Today I am grateful for:

1. As always, my sobriety.
2. A faith in something bigger than me.
3. A week with happy, healthy and delightfully normal grandkids.
4. Good old friends who open their home and heart to me.
5. Tiramisu for breakfast-that's why it has coffee in it, right?

  1. Thank you for your post. Your post, be it short ;-) opened up something and I FINALLY experienced the comfort and peace of realising that I can actually trust my HP, instead of it being an anonymous force. Thank you. <3

FYI: you do know that a standard tiramisu recipe contains alcohol, not? Hope you checked since it is a non-bake recipe so... take care.

  2. I'm so glad this post touched you, sometimes it is such a relief for me to realize I am not in charge of everything that happens in my life.
As far as the tiramisu, no I didn't realize it had alcohol in it, I got it at the H.E.B. and just checked the contents and it doesn't contain alcohol. I have never really concerned myself with alcohol included in foods, I'm sure I've eaten lots of "traditional" tiramisu and I've never relapsed. I don't buy into the belief that a small amount of alcohol will lead to imminent relapse, I tend to think that belief can become a self-fulfilling prophesy. But, I do know others believe they need to avoid any amount of alcohol and I respect that.

    1. Hi Kary,
I also believe there is something selffulfilling in the lapse -> relapse > collapse thought. I actually found some research on it one day. Also, for me the intent with which we take/eat/drink something makes a difference. Homeopathic medicine are ok for me. Strange actually that we all have different borders. Food for thougth.
